They use high school kids to make the pastries and cakes, even though they advertise that is their pastries are baked by award winning pastry chefs. The bread is packaged in cheap plastic, that the bread ends up smelling like plastic. The taste of their pastries are dull and just have lots of sugar. Will never buy from here again, regardless of how long they have been around in Evanston.
One of the best bakeries in the area. Amazing cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and other unique delights. A lot of fun with the kids. Cool window displays too!
Stale. Dry. Not fresh. Had to pay to sample a custom made cake. The sample was dry.
I bought a tray of cookies and baked goods today from Bennison on short notice for my corporate meeting with a local Chicago business. The cashier said no problem, and was very patient and helped arrange them on the tray, and it went over great with our prospect! We had people stopping by the conference room to check out the spread. Best part was all those cookies and pastries cost just $45 and the tray itself was $5. I had checked elsewhere for catering trays and the prices ranged from $50 to $75 and higher. Great deal, great treats and I would recommend Bennison for any corporate function.
Small little bakery. Nice selection of baked goods. The Monoco crossaint is great. Service is good and everyone is friendly. It can get crazy in there during peak periods.
I wish I could give no stars, cause this place is worse than dunkin donuts, but more expensive.
